ABOUT THE CASTLE POINT CLIMATE ACTION GROUP

Mission Statement
CPCAG Meetings

Who are Castlepoint Climate Action Group?

Castlepoint Climate Action Group (CPCAG) is an independent, not for profit, local group founded with the purpose of ensuring that the residents of Castlepoint, Essex, UK have access to good, solid information regarding the immediate threat of climate change.

CPCAG is an independent group and therefore will not be sponsored by any organisation in order to maintain our independence. CPCAG operates as financially lean as is possible, all members offer their time and effort for free but there are obviously inherent running costs, so donations are more than welcome.

What are CPCAG doing?

CPCAG are pulling together local knowledge, resources and expertise, as well as researching climate change publications, with the aim of giving Castlepoint residents the right information needed to help us all make the transition to a greener, cleaner future.

We will seek to put pressure on Castlepoint council, to ensure that they have a plan on how to achieve 'net carbon zero by 2050'...if not before, and that they implement a plan and stick to it as soon as possible.

We hold regular meetings to share information and to plan events and how best to interact with the local authorities. We are a newly formed group and as such, CPCAG itself will be growing and adapting as we evolve and with the needs and requirements to deliver our aims.

CPCAG will be attending local events and working with local partners and we encourage collaboration. This may be through collaboration with schools and colleges, youth groups, religious faith groups and local councils. This is a fully inclusive group and our intention is to work with as wide a partnership as possible as the issue is greater than the individual.
