Essex County Council release: Net Zero report-
Making Essex Carbon neutral
20th July 2021- Essex County Council have release their eagerly anticipated report- Net Zero: Making Essex Carbon Neutral.
The report identifies a plan and pathway for Essex to reach net carbon zero by 2050. The report covers land use and green infrastructure, energy, the built environment, transport and waste. It also highlights the importance of community engagement, in sharing knowledge, aiding the direction and the potential of community energy groups.
The report can be downloaded from the following link or from our resources page:

GREEN HOMES GRANT SUCCESS!
CPCAG are pleased to acknowledge that Castlepoint borough council has successfully won funding through the Green Homes Grant scheme, for £2.3 million pounds to fully upgrade the insulation on 250 homes at Kings Park Village on Canvey Island. This will aid each householder by reducing their energy demands and bills and will save many tonnes of CO2 being released over the lifetime of the installation. The council need to take advantage of every Government scheme available to help them and us as a community to decrease our carbon emissions. This sets a good example as well as aiding in confidence for the GHG scheme, which is experiencing teething problems due to poor administration. CPCAG will continue to do all we can to support the councils continued progress in tackling climate change at a local level- as this is just the tip of the iceberg and there is much much more to be done.
