Unfortunately, like everyone else, we've had to put our activities on hold during lockdown so that even our launch event planned for last Saturday had to be postponed. Watch this space for the new date coming - we hope! - in the not-too-distant future. But, not daunted, we've been looking for ways we can all play our part in changing the way we think and live to help avert the climate crisis. Horrendous as it is there's no doubt that the lockdown has had numerous beneficial effects notably the decrease in carbon emissions and improvement in air quality. It's also given us time at CPCA to think about how we in Castle Point can use our skills and creativity to move us towards a better, more co-operative and more localised community. Details of projects we already have running and plans for the future are included on this website and we also hope you will visit our FB page. We had a reminder last week that in spite of the lockdown people are still working together (on line, of course!) to spread the message. The latest came from Climate Coalition - www.theclimatecoalition.org - who are a treasure trove of ideas on how we can all make a difference. They say: 'When we take small actions to tackle the climate crisis, they add up to make a big difference. Right now it might feel harder to take action - but there are many climate actions you can do from home.' Climate Coalition also reminded us that this coming Wednesday is Earth Day - www.earthday.org. - and they ask us all to display a green heart in our windows to show our love for the planet. They have a downloadable Green Heart on their website.
